Arts Reverie is a unique project for artists, creative thinkers and cultural practitioners located in the heart of Ahmedabad’s historic quarter.

It has been set up by three experienced arts managers: Anupa Mehta of Art Works, India, and Jeremy Theophilus and Barney Hare Duke of A Fine Line: Cultural Practice, based in the UK. In response to the growing ambitions of international artists to engage with each other and their cultures, they have created a place for artists that is both nurturing and stimulating.

Arts Reverie is:

A special house where artists can stay to develop their ideas and their creative practice.
A resource which helps artists put their ideas into action.
A creative space from which new thinking and new work will originate, to connect and influence other artists, cultural organisations and people in Ahmedabad, India, and internationally.
Is an exquisitely restored 1920s haveli in the heart of Ahmedabad’s old City.
Is part of a programme of initiatives that are driving the City’s regeneration, specifically linking heritage with the energy of the India’s burgeoning contemporary arts scene.

Arts Reverie is run by experienced arts managers from India and the UK and offers artists:

Year-round accommodation for up to four artists for short/long term residencies
Options on full or half board at competitive rates
Exhibition/performance/experimental presentation space
Involvement in a broad programme of cultural events
Links with cultural industries’ professionals across the city and India

Arts Reverie is a tested model that has already hosted a number of short and long term residencies:
